The signing of the agreement between the US and Iran for a definitive ceasefire remains "close," but the "timing of peace" is uncertain.
Rumors are swirling: it's expected today, Sunday, or at least "any day now." There certainly isn't expected to be a signing in person in Geneva between US Vice President J.D. Vance and Tehran's Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf. A remote signing is likely, followed by technical discussions. Following the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz is expected to reopen immediately.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump is celebrating his 80th birthday today (with a wrestling match at the White House) and will then fly to the G7 in Evian, France, where, according to leaks, he will also meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelensky.
