Countdown to the first televised duel between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the Democratic candidate and her Republican rival competing for the White House in the US presidential elections.

And two days before the TV challenge, the New York Times published a poll on voting intentions, conducted in collaboration with Siena College.

According to the NYT, the two candidates are increasingly neck and neck: the Republican is ahead with 48% against the Democrat's 47%, but calculating a margin of error of 3%, the result is practically unchanged compared to that of a survey carried out in July, immediately after Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race.

It remains to be seen whether and to what extent the face-to-face meeting on Tuesday 10 September, which will be broadcast on ABC, will shift the audience's "appreciation" ratings.
