Ceuta, Spanish intelligence officials say a new migrant attack on August 15 is entirely credible.

The Spanish National Intelligence Centre (CNI) considers the campaign spread on social networks calling for a new attempted mass entry into Ceuta on August 15 to be "fully credible" , according to Cadena Ser, citing intelligence sources.

Furthermore, it's not ruled out that the organizers may move the date forward to capitalize on the surprise effect, following the widespread media coverage of the online buzz. The CNI has been monitoring Facebook, WhatsApp, and TikTok groups for days, where messages and false information about alleged breaches in border controls are circulating.

The Spanish Interior Ministry, however, claims it has all the necessary resources to deal with any attempts at irregular entry. Meanwhile, the sharing of European intelligence early warning systems has also been strengthened, according to Spanish media reports.

And a total of 4,000 police officers, Civil Guards, and army personnel remain deployed in Ceuta, having been mobilized a week ago to deal with the assault . This deployment will be reinforced if necessary.

The security forces also rely on Morocco's cooperation to prevent any mass departures from occurring.

A week ago, around 72,000 people arrived in the Spanish exclave on African territory, 70,000 of whom voluntarily returned to Morocco .
