The Sassari Brigade's mission in Lebanon has concluded. This morning in Shama, the command handed over to the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" Brigade. The Brigade Command is scheduled to arrive at Alghero airport tomorrow evening. Around seventy soldiers will return from Lebanon , where the Italian contingent was deployed for five months as part of the UNIFIL mission, the United Nations Force deployed on the border with Israel.

The “Dimonios” will be welcomed on the island by their relatives and numerous authorities.

Led by Brigadier General Andrea Fraticelli, the military operated along the Blue Line on the security front to ensure compliance with the ceasefire in the area, support the Lebanese Armed Forces, and assist the local population.

A mandate that took place in a very delicate context, in the midst of the escalation of the conflict between Hezbollah militias and the IDF .

The return of approximately 500 Sassari citizens, which began with staggered departures from Beirut airport, will be completed by the end of August with the return to Sardinia of the 152nd "Sassari" Infantry Regiment, the "Sassari" Logistics Regiment, units of the 5th Engineer Regiment and the 45th "Reggio" Command and Tactical Support Unit.
