Then Gregory died at 1.45am UK time after British doctors disconnected the machinery keeping her alive . The little girl died in a hospice to which she had been transferred, a place of reception and hospitalization for terminally ill patients specializing in pain therapy.

In the last moments of her life, the little girl was supported by her mother: «Claire kept her with her for her last breaths», reported her father Dean Gregory . « They managed to take Indi's body and dignity, but they will never be able to take her soul . They tried to get rid of her without anyone knowing, but we made sure she was remembered forever. I knew she was special from the day she was born", the bitter words of the little girl's father.

The parents, we read in a message from Dean Gregory to his lawyers, are " angry, heartbroken and full of shame" . The NHS and the courts not only took away her chance to live, they also took away her dignity to die in the family home to which she belonged."

The comments from the Italian Government were not long in coming, having granted Italian citizenship to the little girl so that she could be transferred and treated at the Bambino Gesù hospital in Rome which had offered to welcome her.

« We did everything we could, everything possible. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. Have a good trip little Indi ", wrote Giorgia Meloni on social media.

« Today this world is decidedly less strong because it has lost, at the behest of a court, the smile of a little girl who was prevented from living . We tried with all our heart. Rest in peace little Indi", is the comment of Daniela Santanchè .
