Ukraine celebrates independence, Zelensky: "We will not cede our land to the occupiers."

"We will not give up our land to the occupiers," Volodymyr Zelensky said on the occasion of National Flag Day, as quoted by Kiev media .

"This flag is the goal and dream of many of our citizens in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. And they keep this flag safe because they know: we will not surrender our land to the occupier ," the president said.

"I thank all those who contribute their personal strength to the strength of the Ukrainian nation. And we will always remember our heroes from different eras, who fought for freedom with our flag in their hands."

Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is also expected in Kiev today: to participate in several ceremonies dedicated to the thirty-fourth anniversary of Independence but also to discuss "this week's intense diplomatic activity with the leaders."
