In a violin there is not only the soul inside the sound box, but also the soul of the violinist. And the theft from Cagliari musician Enrico Tedde is as if he had ripped off a part of his soul.

The instrument, made by Giulio Degani (Toloni label), Venetian luthier of the late 19th century, was stolen after a concert that the Sardinian violinist held in Poitiers with the Orchester des Champs-Élysées, a prestigious Parisian orchestra founded in 1991. , based between Paris and Vienna and specializing in the performance of music written between the mid-18th and early 20th centuries on period instruments.

The theft took place two weeks ago on the train bound for Gare Montparnasse.

Enrico Tedde has launched an appeal on social media, promptly re-launched not only by the other elements of the French orchestra but also by friends and musicians. "It is the violin that has accompanied me in the last 15 years of my career, it is like having lost a part of me".

The instrument is marked, so no luthier will buy it back. There is no hope that the thief can get it for money without drawing attention to himself.
