After a book and a documentary, Amanda Knox returns to tell her story: her arrest, trial, conviction, and final acquittal for the murder of Meredith Kercher, her English student roommate, killed in Perugia in November 2007.

This time, the 39-year-old Seattle native returns to the case with a comedy play titled "Cartwheel," about the trial process in Italy when she and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were accused of the crime. She will perform what has been described as a "comedy monologue" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Knox explained that the show was a way to process the trauma of those years: "I think Meredith would appreciate this show. She was a smart, sophisticated girl, but she was also funny and playful. We listened to music together and went out dancing. She loved having fun."

Amanda then clarified: "I joke about the way I've been demonized, but I don't joke about the crime. That remains a clear line for me."

However, the victim's family is "appalled," and through their lawyer Francesco Maresca, they call the spectacle "offensive and deplorable." "It's an insult to Meredith's memory. We've lost all hope that Knox can understand the feelings it has provoked in the victim's family."
