The Doomsday Clock has never been closer to midnight: its hands have been moved forward from 90 to 89 seconds towards the midnight that symbolizes global catastrophe.

The announcement was made today by the “Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists” founded in 1945 by Albert Einstein and which since 1947 has marked the time remaining until a global catastrophe and which now, in addition to nuclear catastrophe and wars, also considers the threats deriving from climate change, biological threats and those linked to new technologies.
