"The Nord Stream pipeline was hit by serious sabotage, traces of explosives were found on several foreign objects found." so the Swedish prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist , in charge of the investigation into the explosions at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines on 26 September last. The Swedish media reported it.

The two gas pipelines, which extend from Russian territory for hundreds of kilometers to the bottom of the Baltic Sea and which until a few months ago were supposed to transport Russian gas to German territory, had been the target of some suspicious explosions , which had caused four leaks, in international waters, two near Sweden and two near Denmark.

The NATO Atlantic Council intervened on the damage, speaking of "deliberate, reckless and irresponsible acts of sabotage. Russia, for its part, was reporting "terrorist acts, probably by a foreign country".

As Ljungqvist said: “During the crime scene investigation conducted in the Baltic Sea many artifacts were collected and the area was thoroughly analysed. The analyzes carried out show explosive residues on various foreign objects found. Advanced analysis work continues to draw more reliable conclusions about the accident."

And he adds: «Collaboration between the Swedish authorities and those of other countries is excellent. For the continuation of the preliminary investigations and the various ongoing collaborations, it is important to be able to work in peace".

The Kremlin 's reaction was immediate: "It is very important to establish who is behind the explosions" , the words of the spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
