"The Farnesina expresses great satisfaction with the decision of the German judicial authorities regarding the surrender to the Italian authorities of the Russian citizen of Chechen origin Rassoul Bissoultanov ", believed to be responsible for the brutal murder of the 22-year-old Florentine Niccolò Ciatti, who was kicked and punched on August 13 2017, in a nightclub in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in a note.

The authorization for surrender follows a European arrest warrant, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome in 2020, on the basis of which the German authorities arrested the Russian citizen on 3 August last.

"The constant contacts of the embassies in Berlin and Madrid with their respective local authorities have made it possible to achieve this important result, which is essential to prevent the accused from escaping justice", concludes the statement from the Farnesina.

Bissoultanova had been released from prison by the Spanish authorities on 17 June last due to the expiry of the terms of the preventive detention and for him the obligation to sign weekly at the court of Girona was ordered. Then the arrest in Germany.
