Alarm raised this morning in Lithuania due to the alleged sighting of a drone in the sky .

An airspace emergency that forced the closure of Vilnius airport and NATO to mobilize at least one fighter jet .

The alarm was later called off and the airport reopened within 38 minutes, after a NATO fighter jet performed a visual identification, and what had appeared to be a drone turned out to be a flock of birds , the Lithuanian National Crisis Management Centre said.

"In the initial radar surveys , the tracks left by birds and drones may appear similar ," the agency added.
