The British monarchs were received at the White House by Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Then, the second institutional stop was at the Congress in Washington .
The sovereign's visit reaffirmed that, despite the current disagreements between the United States and the United Kingdom, "time and time again our two countries have found ways to work together." He also emphasized that, in times of great international challenges, it is more necessary than ever to remain united to defend democratic values, renewing the partnership between the US and the UK in the name of "reconciliation and renewal."
