For the past 10 days there has been no news of an Italian who disappeared in Peru. Alberto Fedele , a 30-year-old aid worker from Pavia, had gone out for a hike in the mountains of Cusco but has never returned.

Now the rescuers are joined by a group of Red Cross specialists to carry out searches together with the national police on the slopes of Mount Chicón, in the Urubamba region.

Eddy Bustamante, coordinator of the organization in Cusco, specified that these are 12 specialized and experienced people who will go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to help locate the young man in a predominantly wild area. The alarm went off after a friend of Fedele did not see him return from the excursion and, after two days, she notified the authorities.
