An Israeli air strike killed a senior member of Hamas's political bureau in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, Reuters reported, citing Palestinian sources, and was reported by Israeli media.

An airstrike killed Salah al-Bardaweel. His wife was also killed in the attack. Other Hamas leaders are reported to have been killed in the Israeli attacks on Gaza that resumed on Tuesday. Among them, the head of the de facto Hamas government Essam Addalees and the head of internal security Mahmoud Abu Watfa and other officials of the movement.

And Israel's war is once again spreading to Syria, with raids south of Damascus, and especially in Lebanon, in the south and in the Bekaa Valley, where yesterday at least three people were killed, including a child, in several waves of attacks against what Israel calls "terrorist targets" linked to Hezbollah.

After the truce that failed in the Strip, the one agreed with Hezbollah now risks ending badly.

Israel's multiple waves of attacks came after rockets from southern Lebanon were fired toward the Galilee for the first time in months. Israel says it intercepted three of the six rockets fired. Hezbollah has denied responsibility and accused Israel of seeking "pretexts to continue its offensive against Lebanon."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have ordered the army to "act forcefully" in Lebanon. "Israel will not allow any harm to its citizens and its sovereignty," the prime minister said, calling the Lebanese government, led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, "responsible for everything that happens on its soil."
