Iceland's EU membership referendum: "The 'No' vote won," public television announced.

The "no" vote won with 52.8% of the vote in Iceland's referendum on resuming negotiations for accession to the European Union . This was the announcement made by public television regarding the results of Sunday's vote count, as the vote count drew to a close.

The "No" vote prevailed in four of the six constituencies for which final results are available, while the "Yes" vote won in the two constituencies of the capital Reykjavik.

The turnout was high: 225,031 voters.

A result that was unpredictable until the very end , even though the “no” front had grown significantly in recent days.
