Confirmations arrive on the tragic death at sea of Andrea Zuccari, recordman and freediving instructor. Romano, 49, did not resurface after going deep into the waters of Sharm el Sheik.

According to what has been learned, on Monday he was at work for the maintenance of the cables connecting the platform with the dead body on the bottom and had dived with cylinders and "aqua scooters" to a depth between 45 and 50 meters. He never came up again.

Immediate searches, which made it possible to recover part of the equipment, but no trace of the body.

Zuccari was a freediving champion, thanks to an extraordinary decompression technique, on which he taught courses all over the world: he was expected in Sardinia, at Asinara, in two weeks' time.

The news of his disappearance immediately made the rounds of the globe among insiders.
