The relatives of Eitan, the only child who survived the Mottarone massacre brought by his maternal grandfather Shmuel Peleg to Israel, reach an initial agreement.

In Tel Aviv this morning the first hearing of the lawsuit brought by the child's paternal aunt, Aja Biran, appointed by the Italian court as her legal guardian, was held behind closed doors. The Biran and Peleg families, according to what is learned, have reached an agreement whose contours have not been fully known to "protect the privacy of the child who at this moment needs peace of mind", say the lawyers of the parties.

THE AGREEMENT - It is known that the agreement covers the period until October 8, when the hearings will resume, during which time the child will remain in Israel and will spend half of his time with his maternal family and the other half of the time with aunt Aya, with intervals, according to legal sources, of three days each for each family branch.

The agreements, reached on the instruction of the judge, are aimed at "defending little Eitan and his safety, his integrity and his tranquility", the words of the lawyers. In addition to the child's paternal family, in court there were the maternal grandfather Shmuel Peleg, under investigation in Pavia for aggravated kidnapping, the maternal grandmother Etty Peleg Cohen and her daughter Gali Peleg, who recently announced that she wanted to adopt Eitan. The judge, however, authorized the presence in the courtroom only of Shmuel Peleg and Aja Biran, the rest of the family was sent out.
