Zeddiani, the Municipality is asking the Local Health Authority to set up an information office for citizens left without a doctor

The request is clear: an office with a special number from the Asl of Oristano to give useful and valuable information to citizens left without a doctor. It is one of the many requests from the Municipality of Zeddiani that emerged during the public assembly organized by the mayor Claudio Pinna last night at the former Montegranatico and in which many participated.

The aim was to inform those who have been left without assistance since March 1st following the retirement of their general practitioner. A considerable inconvenience: many are turning to the medical guards of the area even if they cannot satisfy all the requests of the patients. «We have gathered a lot of anger and a lot of concern - explains the mayor Claudio Pinna - Unfortunately, in addition to the fact that the population is without medical assistance, there is a lot of confusion. Often the doctors who are indicated by the ASL have already exceeded, for example, the maximum patient threshold. And the citizens don't know what to do. This is why we ask the ASL to set up a special office given the emergency. Citizens must not be left alone."

Also present at the assembly was a doctor from the medical guard who explained when citizens can turn to the medical guards, and Annalisa Mele, doctor and regional councilor.

"We took advantage of his presence to ask that the case of our country be brought to the Region as well - concludes Pinna - We as a Municipality will continue to be on the side of the citizens".

Meanwhile, for some days, in the main square of the town, a huge billboard has been posted with the words "AAA general practitioners wanted". A way to shout even better the drama that the population is experiencing. But not only. The City Council will be held next Wednesday will meet to approve the document in defense of public health.An initiative proposed by the Coordination of Sardinian committees for public health, born in December last year with the very aim of dialogue with the municipal administrations on health problems.
