The council is ready, but the names will be revealed on Monday during the first municipal council meeting . The mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda confirmed this in a public meeting in Piazza Galilei in front of around 300 people.
«It will be a council of smart people, with more women than men . And he will work immediately for the people of Cagliari to ensure the decorum of the city and provide services."
The mayor did not spare criticism of his predecessor Paolo Truzzu : «I found a political-administrative degradation that I had never perceived before. Full coffers mean poor health of the Municipality. We must immediately remodulate the resources so as not to lose any more."
The project in Via Roma , which has been blocked by works for months, is rejected: «The vertical forest does not exist, the Superintendence's requirements have already arrived. They dug and spent money to remove the granite. And now we have to put the granite back ." To convey the concept, he quoted Karate Kid: «You know 'remove the wax, put the wax back'? This is happening in Via Roma."
There was also criticism of the San Benedetto market : «There was a proposal to move to the fairgrounds but it was abandoned. Instead , a temporary market has been planned which will be dismantled and which however will cost ten million ."
The increase in the Tari : «Whoever says that it increases because of the commissioner must do another job, he must not deal with public administration».
And again, on “Mengonigate” : « We won't have concerts on New Year's Eve worth a million . Bread and circus were something else, the decline of the empire: we will guarantee services, but also shows. We will try to do something with what we have in hand, taking into account the real needs of the citizens."
