An illness while driving triggers a chain collision that sends traffic in half of Cagliari into a tailspin.

The accident occurred around 11 am in via Cadello, between the via Is Mirrionis roundabout and the intersection with via Fratelli Falletti. According to an initial reconstruction, a twenty-eight-year-old felt ill while driving his car and lost control. The subsequent dynamics are unclear, but in the end four vehicles remained stuck in the middle of the road, damaged after a collision: two Dacia Sanderos, a BMW and an Opel Agila.

That is a crucial point for Cagliari's traffic. And the consequences were immediate: traffic was paralyzed in via Cadello towards Is Mirrionis, up to via Santa Maria Chiara. And also on the other side: cars lined up from Piazza d'Armi, in via Campania and via Liguria, up to the other side of via Is Mirrionis towards the hospital.

Some ambulances arrived on site, but none of the injured suffered serious consequences. The twenty-eight year old was transported to hospital: his life is not in danger.

Hard work for the local police officers, who arrived with four patrols to carry out investigations and try to manage the chaos. With a further difficulty: due to an electrical problem, the camera system is not working, so it is not possible from the operations center to provide the necessary support to the agents in the field.
