«Watch over us, you will always be our little star». This is the phrase that accompanies the smiling face of Masssimo Cocco printed on the white t-shirts worn by his friends who this afternoon accompanied the nineteen-year-old who died in a road accident last Wednesday on state road 195 near Maddalena Spiaggia, in his last journey to the Quartucciu cemetery, where his body will rest forever.

There are many Quartuccians who wanted to say their last goodbyes to Massimo and suddenly the church of San Giorgio seems to be too small to accommodate all those shining eyes and broken hearts.

The white coffin arrives just before 3pm, escorted by around fifty scooters and motorbikes driven by lifelong friends with whom Massimo spent his days.

Scooters and motorbikes that made the roar of the engines and the horn heard as the white coffin emerged from the Church, wrapped in red and white roses, while the mother, the father, the girlfriend with a lost look and all the others followed behind walk the hearse.

White and blue balloons tied to reproduce a large rosary were made to fly towards the sky, as if to protect that red heart with the writing "I love you", which Federica, Massimo's young girlfriend, shyly let go away. «A du connosciri in su scelu», said Don Elvio Puddu at the end of the funeral celebration, embracing the family. «We will not see Massimo again on earth, but in heaven. The consolation we can have now is that he is with Our Lady, the mother of all of us."
