After the thirty fires on Saturday, another 20 blazes were recorded in Sardinia on Monday, July 14, three of which required the intervention of regional and national air fleets.

Specifically, two Canadair aircraft had to be scrambled from their Olbia base to extinguish the flames that had spread through reforestation areas, uncultivated land, arable land, and wooded pastures in the Barumini countryside. Helicopters from the regional Forestry Corps bases of Villasalto, Sorgono, San Cosimo, and Fenosu (Super Puma) were also on site.

Flames are still raging in Sindia, in the Nuoro province, where a fire threatened farms yesterday . Helicopters from Bosa, Anela, Farcana, and Alà dei Sardi (Super Puma) were also deployed, along with a Canadair. The flames attacked Mediterranean scrub, arable land, and wooded pastures.

Reed beds and crops also burned in San Sperate, where a helicopter from the Pula base intervened.
