Traces of blood inside the apartment, the position of the victim's body, and her screams an hour before the tragedy. These are the elements that triggered the homicide investigation after the discovery, yesterday around 7:50 PM, of the lifeless body of Florina Florea, a 66-year-old Romanian woman , in the internal courtyard of Via Logudoro in Is Corrias (Selargius).

The elderly owner of the house, Mariano Pinna, 87, is under investigation, but is at liberty to complete all investigations. The man, represented by lawyer Carlo Monaldi, has already been questioned by prosecutor Rita Cariello: he is at liberty, staying with a family member.

The alarm was raised by a resident of the building, a nurse: he noticed the body, called 118, and attempted to provide first aid to the woman, but to no avail. Then the ambulance and patrols of the Carabinieri from the Selargius station and the Quartu company arrived , followed by personnel from the Cagliari provincial investigative unit and the RIS (Italian Special Investigative Unit). The Carabinieri specialists returned to Is Corrias that afternoon.

Initial theories of suicide or accident have given way to homicide due to the presence of bloodstains in the apartment, which will require further investigation. Therefore, an autopsy has been ordered, which will be performed by coroner Roberto Demontis. The apartment has been placed under seizure.

Pinna was repeatedly interviewed and reportedly said the woman was in the room cleaning. She apparently fell from the window of the third-floor apartment: the fixed part is quite high and it doesn't seem easy to fall accidentally. Some residents heard screams and a frantic phone call from the woman around 7:00 PM. Otherwise, these are elements that investigators must fully investigate. At this time , there are no signs of anyone else in the apartment other than the man and woman: this aspect is also being carefully analyzed by the Carabinieri.

The residents of the buildings on Via Logudoro, who knew Pinna well, were in shock , much less so the woman who apparently had been helping the elderly man—who has vision problems—with household chores for a year and who had now lived there.
