A tragic accident occurred last night in Stintino ( READ MORE HERE ), just steps from La Pelosa beach. A 63-year-old woman, Patrizia Mastrovita, a resident of Milan, died after being hit by an SUV in a private parking lot at the La Pelosetta Residence.
According to the initial reconstruction carried out by the Carabinieri, the driver of a BMW with an automatic transmission, a 52-year-old man originally from Puglia, leaned out of the window to open the barrier and enter the parking lot, which is located uphill from the building, to access the residence where he was staying .
During the maneuver, he lost control of the vehicle , which, having passed the barrier, hit two people, a husband and wife, tourists residing in Milan and staying at the facility.
The woman was dragged for several meters and the car crashed into a wall. Patrizia Mastrovita died a few minutes later, while her husband, 68, was taken by ambulance to Sassari Hospital, where doctors gave him a 30-day prognosis.
