The new "Blues" hybrid trains arrive in Sardinia. They will enter service on Sunday 11 December, coinciding with the departure of Trenitalia's winter season: there are 12 trains, they will circulate throughout the region, completing the modernization of the fleet envisaged in the service contract.

Trenitalia speaks of a " revolution in the travel experience " which will provide support for the relaunch of the tourism system.

Trenitalia confirms the connections to the main port and airport hubs and implements the connections between Cagliari and Elmas airport, which can be reached by train . Olbia station is instead connected to the Costa Smeralda airport with Olbia AirLink, the train & bus service that connects the two airports in 20 minutes with 51 trips a day.
