Understanding and experimenting with hydrogen technologies for the use, inspection, and maintenance of systems. This is the goal of the training program—starting September 29th in Macchiareddu—promoted by the Renewable Energy Platform of Sardegna Ricerche in collaboration with Rina Consulting - Centro Sviluppo Materiali.

The course, open to businesses and freelancers who can register until September 23, is completely free. It lasts a total of 40 hours and is structured into two modules, attended in person at the Macchiareddu Training Center, the first in Sardinia to offer hydrogen research infrastructure open to businesses. The first module—lasting 24 hours—is essential for addressing and exploring all aspects related to regulations, safety, material compatibility (asset integrity), and the prospects for hydrogen technological development. The second module, however, specializes in one of the following profiles: operation and maintenance expert (OMH2), hydrogen plant and project management expert (PRH2), or inspector and tester (ISCH2). Each candidate may choose their preferred focus.

The training program promoted by Sardegna Ricerche on hydrogen technologies is part of this policy: investing today in knowledge and professional skills is essential to support the competitiveness of our economy and the development opportunities associated with the evolution of the energy sector," emphasized Giuseppe Meloni, Regional Councilor for Planning and Budget.

"Making our Macchiareddu Training Center, the first in Sardinia equipped for this type of activity, available to companies means bridging the gap between advanced technological research and the local job market. Together with an excellent partner like RINA, we offer high-level training, completely free of charge, to certify skills that will be crucial and immediately applicable in the hydrogen and energy supply chain of the future."

The program—open to a maximum of 20 participants—will conclude with an exam and the official professional qualification certification issued by Rina Consulting, a national leader in the sector.

The activity aims to provide the theoretical skills needed to operate in a strategic sector for the island and is part of the activities of the Training Centre on hydrogen and digital technologies for the energy transition that the regional agency is developing as part of Action 1.1.1 of the ERDF Sardinia 2021-2027 PR, aimed at strengthening research infrastructures open to businesses.
