Disembarking at the wheel of a refrigerated truck containing fish at the "Isola Bianca" port of Olbia, he was found in possession of 12 kg of cocaine divided into one-kilo blocks. loaded with drugs by the canine units of the Guardia di Finanza.
During specific checks at the disembarkation of the motor ship coming from Livorno on the means of transporting goods, the attention of the financiers focused on a truck that was trying in vain to escape to avoid the control. And while the green berets were checking the documents, the drug dogs Betty, Oliver and Daff immediately smelled the drug stored in a trolley inside the cab of the truck.
The seized substance, pure cocaine marked with the logo of the Japanese flag, once cut and placed on the market would have yielded over two million euros.
At the end of the operations, the transporter was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority of Tempio Pausania which ordered his immediate transfer to the prison in Sassari.
The searches carried out in the 55-year-old's home made it possible to find a sum of cash equal to about 50 thousand euros, a sum on which investigations are underway.
