Frequented by criminals and the scene of a recent stabbing, the Sassari police chief has closed a bar in Pietraia, Alghero, "for reasons of public order and safety."

It all started with a report from medical staff at the Civil Hospital's emergency room, where a man presented with serious abdominal injuries caused by a knife. Investigations by officers from the Alghero police station were able to meticulously reconstruct the events and identify the perpetrator of the attack, who has now been charged with attempted murder.

The investigations revealed that despite the seriousness of the episode, which took place in the bar in front of numerous witnesses, none of those present alerted the medical services or requested the intervention of the police.

Subsequent checks carried out by the Flying Squad on duty confirmed that the premises continued to be a regular meeting place for individuals with multiple criminal and police records.

In light of the emerging evidence, the Sassari Police Chief, acting on a proposal from the police station, ordered the suspension of the business's license.
