A late-night burglary attempt occurred at the parish house of the Church of San Pio X in Iglesias. Around 4:00 a.m., the priest, Don Giorgio Fois, awakened by suspicious noises coming from outside, immediately realized someone had entered his home through a window and raised the alarm by calling 112.
Officers from the Villamassargia Carabinieri station responded promptly to the scene and managed to surprise and arrest a thirty-one-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, inside the building.

The young man was found in possession of the wallet that had just been stolen from the parish priest and was arrested.
