Wind assault among the ashes of Montiferru

Here, a year later, the road signs are indelible epitaphs carved forever by the great fire. Indications burnt alive by the impetuous advance of those flames, made into infernal tongues of death, driven like never before by the fury of the mistral and criminal foolishness. The writing San Leonardo is worn as if the fury of Pompeii had passed through this hermitage, only the direction remains legible like a photographic negative, left for Macomer, always straight for Santu Lussurgiu.
Everyone has seen it
Anyone passing through this tortuous artery cannot fail to see that violent wound still dripping with ash and destruction which crossed the Montiferru oasis 15 months ago, lighting up the sea of Santa Caterina di Pittinuri with fire. Everyone, or almost everyone, saw that huge disaster of those nefarious days which from 23 to 25 July 2021 marked forever that strip of paradise between the Temo valley and the Sinis, passing through the Marghine and Montiferru. The poor people of this land have lost everything, olive groves, livestock, hopes and memories. The bitter tears for the promised refreshments have had time to dry. Those basaltic rocks transformed into black forest remained, those millenary trunks turned into coal, as if the branches were open-air lignite mines.
But not all
Everyone has seen it, but not everyone. There are those who, for example, celebrated the anniversary of that huge environmental, economic and social disaster among the meanders of the ministry of wind business transition, the one that in two years declared war on the island of Sardinia. They acted in silence, behind their backs and without shame. The plan is still secreted inside the palace in Rome. The justification for denying papers and documents is well established: administrative verification. There isn't a shred of official paper on what is being planned in the heart of Montiferru. There are boundaries of what could be the final blow to the heart of the Island.
The kidnapping map
The map is limited. From Santu Lussurgiu to Scano Montiferro, passing Sagama, Tinnura, Suni, Sindia up to Macomer, the capital of Marghine. The assault is detailed, at least seven projects, all with names and surnames, large multinationals and wind lords descended on the land of Sardinia to "seize" wind and get paid millions and millions of euros in state incentives. Some have not even waited for the sad anniversary of the tragedy. With the grace of bulldozers they were ahead of their time, as if they knew in that windy business circle that the great race was about to begin. And so it actually was. The documents in our possession tell much more than a dispute over land where to carry out one's business, what has been unleashed in this wasteland of ash is a real war of the wind. A history marked by a State that not only does not trash this aggression to a wounded area like few others, but which insists on proposing a real wind invasion for the Island capable of permanently disfiguring the environment and landscape, irreparably raping already severely tried territories .
The comrades of ENI
The first to land in Tierra del Fuego are nobodies. The patron of the operation is Pier Francesco Rimbotti, managing director of Infrastrutture SpA. It is he who on the eve of last Christmas, it is December 20, 2021, breaks into the protocol of the ministry that belonged to Roberto Cingolani, the physicist with the dot for the Sardinian wind. The project runs in the preferential lane of the Pnrr: "Suni wind farm". It is not known how they arrived in this strip of Sardinia, but they certainly have clear ideas: sticking ten cyclopean blades, each 206 meters high, into the earth of the great fire, to produce 60 megawatts of electricity.
Skyscrapers in Suni
The steel skyscrapers other than Suni would end up in the contiguous towns of Sagama, Sindia and Tinnura. Of the seven projects presented, it is the only unencrypted one. Documents that can be found complete with cadastral maps for an expropriation of public utility, as much as the wind tycoons ask. Not a deal for their bank accounts, but a public interest that not even the wildest imagination could imagine. And they play big with business. It is no coincidence that the latest partnership just declared is the one with “Plenitude”, the renewable wind power giant of ENI, the master father of Italy's energy.
Wind wallet
The ambition is shamelessly declared: "The synergies with Plenitude will enhance the know-how, which we have built in our thirty years of experience in the sector, and the portfolio of projects in Italy and Spain which we intend to further expand". Montiferru is certainly in that portfolio of projects just announced in the high finance buildings by the managing director of Infrastrutture SpA. Another state giant is chasing the business "partner" of ENI. This time, the electricity company par excellence takes the field without preamble: Enel Green Power, the state-owned wind arm. In this case the drop is even more invasive and planned: the gentlemen of Enel are not limited to a single project but double: the first 60 megawatt wind plant and 13 wind turbines are dedicated to "Sindia", 1,718 inhabitants, bordering on Suni , the country optioned by Infrastructure SpA, the second, called "Macomer 2", however, 8 blades and 48 megawatts goes on the opposite side of Montiferru, between Santu Lussurgiu, Borore and Macomer.
State shovels
Their project, officially filed on April 29 of this year, is still kept secret today in the rooms of the Ecological Transition. When you try to access the loot, they tell you that it is undergoing an "administrative investigation". As if to say: no nosy, for now we examine it behind closed doors. Enel, however, has been careful not to make any proclamations, no communication on the dual project in land of fire and wind. Operation to be governed in the strictest secrecy, as if there were something to hide. And, in effect, to keep track of is that project presented a few months after the devastation of that area. The names of the cadastral maps booked by Enel are closed to non-experts, but it is known that nothing can be done in the areas engulfed in flames for at least ten years. It is, therefore, evident that to design the new state wind power plant they will have focused their attention on those areas miraculously remained unscathed by the flames. All this while ignoring, however, that the impact of those 206-metre blades will not be limited to just the positioning site of each single wind turbine, already devastating in itself, but will have a devastating landscape effect on the entire area affected by the fire. of July 2021.
The race to the wind
The documents in our possession, however, allow us to glimpse a real wind war over those areas, between the strongest players, Eni and Enel, and as many unknown or almost unknown subjects, ready to take over those areas without hesitation between the Marghine, the sea and the forests incinerated by fire on Montiferru. In the documents under secret scrutiny by the Ministry of the Environment there are two other projects that are still a real mystery today. Chinese boxes, overlapping companies, unprecedented wind ambitions.
From Celano to Sindia
In late June, according to verified information, a gentleman from Celano, in deep Abruzzo, would show up in Rome with the intention of unloading two wind projects on the Ecological Transition, one of which is unprecedented in terms of number of blades and electrical power . The company, Vcc Scano-Sindia Srl, which deserves a separate chapter in our investigation, has the ambition to clear the entire Montiferru without half measures, eliminating any potential competition on the wind. The first project is a whole program: the "Scano-Sindia" wind plant, 56 blades of 206 meters for an expected power of 336 Mw. The municipalities chosen for this "raid" are those of Sindia and Scano di Montiferro. The second project, linked to the first of Vcc, is called "Crastu Furones", with 12 shovels to be driven between the municipalities of Scano di Montiferro and Sindia, an axis that crosses the entire territory covered by flames. That's not all: the Carlo Maresca spa group presented two other projects, through Wind Energy Sindia Srl and Wind Energy Suni Srl, the first with a 43.4 megawatt wind farm and the other with 31. Also in this case the project is "hidden" in the rooms of the Ministry. A real climb to the most wounded land, from which, however, confidential documents emerge that reveal an impressive whirlwind of business and a war without borders for control of the Montiferru wind.
