Cgil, Cisl and Uil territorial have sent a request to meet the Prefect of Cagliari Gianfranco Tomao to address the issue of health and safety in the workplace.

"Unfortunately, we are facing a real emergency, with an increase in fatal accidents and injuries that does not spare Sardinia and the Cagliari area", wrote the secretaries Simona Fanzecco (CGIL), Mimmo Contu (Cisl) and Andrea Lai ( Uil) underlining the need for a decisive turning point that involves all the subjects who in various capacities deal with safety and health at work. The prefect is involved in this framework, from whom the trade unions ask for a meeting to share the proposals drawn up and the mobilization and awareness-raising initiatives launched jointly.

On October 18 there will be a meeting, by videoconference, of all the Rlst (Representatives of workers for territorial safety) of Cgil, Cisl and Uil of Sardinia: among the priorities, in addition to strengthening the training and prevention system and investments public and private, the strengthening of control and inspection systems and, in general, a greater involvement of institutions and companies in the construction of a culture of safety that could find a suitable space also in school programs.

The request of the unions is part of the awareness campaign launched by the national unions which will culminate with a demonstration scheduled for October 22 in Rome .
