Inclusion and work for people with disabilities: the Region's new three-year plan is underway
There are five million euros available plus six million left unused by the previous councilA three-year 5 million euro plan for the inclusion and employment of people with disabilities in Sardinia. Plus 6 million left unusable by the previous council. A total of 11 million is therefore what the Council makes available at the request of the regional councilor for employment, Desirè Manca, for the companies that will participate in the program in favor of the most vulnerable.
The project, which was born in the footsteps of Regional Law 9 of 2016, which established the Regional Fund for the employment of people with disabilities, will start in the second half of 2024. The heart of the plan is the resolution entitled "Promotion of Actions for inclusion of people with disabilities", which defines strategic directions and financial resources to achieve full employment inclusion. At the basis of the provision, in fact, there is the urgency to renew the approach to disability: it is not enough to reiterate the principle of inclusiveness, but we must promote equity and accessibility. The aim is therefore the ability to interpret people's expectations and break down not only architectural but also ideological barriers.
«This plan aims to build an inclusive society, where every individual can express their potential without obstacles and prejudices», said councilor Manca, «we want to create a working environment that enhances differences by promoting new opportunities».
