Too many episodes of violence against animals in Sardinia. This was reported by the Anti-Vivisection League (LAV), which reviews the latest events recorded in a few days on the island: the death of Nutellino , the cat beaten to death in Sedini, two horse heads in the middle of the main road in Samatzai and a shocking video of a young man in Porto Torres filming himself tearing the head off a bird.

«Yet another episode of cruelty towards animals in Sardinia which adds to a list that continues to grow», attacks the association. Among the causes «an anthropocentric subculture that considers animals as inanimate objects, the tolerance and non-condemnation of these gestures and their authors. We will do everything to make those responsible pay for their cruelty, even if the current penalties for these crimes are insufficient and do not act as a deterrent."

The anti-vivisection League thus relaunches the urgency of a new, more restrictive law. «The proposal for more severe penalties for mistreatment and violence against animals has been stalled for weeks in the Chamber's Justice Commission», recalls the association, « Lav Sardegna is addressing all the institutions, including the new regional government, asking for a commitment immediate and important to promote appropriate initiatives and policies for animal rights, which help to put an end to these shameful events which, among other things, provide a distorted portrait of Sardinia, making it appear as a land of troglodytes".
