Weather alert for thunderstorms in Sardinia: Civil Protection warning

New weather alert in Sardinia for today, Friday 16 May. Starting from 2pm and until 9pm tonight, the yellow code warning is active, for ordinary criticality: hydrogeological risk for storms in Sarrabus, Campidano and Nuorese.
The eastern and southern part of the island is affected by the bad weather. Gallura, Sassarese, Oristano and Sulcis are excluded from the warning . The warning comes from the Civil Protection.
The Municipality of Cagliari informs that «for the municipal territory of Pirri, an area subject to flooding phenomena, with a specific notice the Civil Protection has also made known the following list of streets in which it is advisable to avoid parking during the period of risk of storms:
- Balilla (from Piazza Italia to Via Dandolo) and side streets;
- Italy;
- Dolianova;
- Sinnai;
- Seventh;
- Mara;
- Donors;
- Saint of Santarosa;
- Confalonieri;
- Amperes.
Cars parked in these areas may be moved to the Terramaini swimming pool parking lot on Via Pisano, to prevent damage from possible flooding.
For tomorrow, Saturday 17 May, the Arpas weather centre announces «partly cloudy skies, irregularly cloudy with isolated light precipitation, including showers or thunderstorms, from the morning until the afternoon in the southern and eastern sectors. Temperatures: minimums stable, maximums slightly increasing».
