From Cagliari to the surrounding towns, from Oristano to Nuoro, from Sassari to Olbia. Many initiatives are planned for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

In Cagliari , at 4:30 p.m., the Council Chamber of Palazzo Bacaredda will host a meeting included in the Feminas shared calendar . The event will precede the City Council meeting and will feature a presentation by Rosalba Castelli, "viandante artivist," creator of the Orme d'ombra project and president of the Artemisia association. At 10 a.m., the University of Cagliari will host a meeting promoted by the University's Single Guarantee Committee in collaboration with the Donne al Traguardo association (Rector's Hall, Via Università). The initiative will feature institutional figures and professionals committed to preventing and combating gender-based violence.

In Quartu, the Municipality is organizing a citizens' march against violence , starting at 9:30 a.m. from Piazza XXVIII Aprile. The procession will pass through several streets of the city to the Kurdish People's Park, where speeches and contributions dedicated to the themes of non-violence and mutual respect are planned. In Monserrato, the meeting point is at 5 p.m. in Piazza Maria Vergine, at the red bench symbolizing the fight against violence against women.

In Oristano, the meeting "Word. Legality. Defense. Free Voices, Protected Lives" is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with Giulia Giornaliste (9:30 a.m., Hospitalis Sancti Antoni, via Cagliari). In Santa Giusta, "Women's Voices" (7 p.m. in the Open Space), an initiative promoted by the Municipality's Department of Social Services.

Initiatives will also take place at airports: at Alghero , the main hall will be bathed in red light, and a red bench will be installed in the center of the hall, complete with a totem explaining its meaning. In the check-in and departure areas, dozens of seats will remain empty, reserved for women victims of violence who will no longer be able to occupy them. In Olbia , the red check-in desk, a permanent symbol of the issue within the airport, will become the beating heart of the day. The video "Let's Put a Point" will be continuously broadcast on LED walls, appealing to victims to find the courage to report.

THE NEW LAW – On the Day Against Violence Against Women, the Chamber of Deputies could approve a new law introducing the crime of femicide as a separate legal category. The measure already received unanimous approval from the Senate last July. This time, too, the law is expected to receive a bipartisan vote, as it did just a few days ago, on November 19th, for the free consent requirement, which establishes that any sexual act without consent is considered rape.
