Plastic waste collection paralysis, emergency: urgent meeting between Region and mayors

Waste emergency in Sardinia: plastic collection centers are full, citizens of numerous municipalities are asked not to dispose of it and to keep it at home , the Region is calling an urgent meeting with the mayors.

The plastic waste collection ban is the focus of a meeting convened almost without warning (out of urgency, not institutional disrespect) by Regional Environment Councilor Rosanna Laconi. "The critical issues that have emerged in the regional plastics supply chain, and the potential immediate impact on the smooth continuation of collection services in municipal areas, necessitate an immediate discussion between the Region and the municipal administrations."

For this reason, the first citizens have been called to connect, wherever they are, to participate in "an information meeting".
