The lifeless bodies of Stefano Bianchelli and Mario Perniciano , the divers who disappeared on Sunday in the sea of Villasimius , between Serpentara and Isola dei Cavoli , in the area of the wreck of the San Marco , a ship sunk during the Second World War, have been found.

The two were together, at a depth of 106 meters and about twenty meters from the wreck , and were identified thanks to the fire brigade's remote-controlled Rov robot , equipped with cameras.

The operations are coordinated by the Port Authority . The "Gaeta" minehunter of the Navy was also on site.

The first body brought to the surface is that of Perniciano: the intervention was carried out with the Rov (Remote Operative Vehicle), an underwater drone controlled by cable from the surface and equipped with cameras and clamps. The transfer on board the Gaeta has been arranged.

Operations for the recovery of Bianchelli's vessel are underway, but sea conditions have become more difficult: it cannot be ruled out that the operation could be postponed.

The bodies will then be transferred to the port of Villasimius and then to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Monserrato Polyclinic where the autopsy will be carried out, entrusted by the magistrate to the medical examiner Roberto Demontis who will also carry out an inspection of the site of the tragedy. Professor Demontis is also an expert diver. In the past he was president of the Sinnai sub club. The most credible hypothesis is that the two divers died of an illness .
