They were all worried about his health condition. But yesterday morning the news arrived of the death of Nicolò Casu , an eleven-year-old resident of Villamassargia , struck down by an illness after a long hospitalization.

The epilogue of the story caused great emotion in the town.

The local community has rallied around the family and the municipal administration has proclaimed a day of citizen mourning for tomorrow on the occasion of the funeral which will take place in the parish of the Madonna della Neve at 3.30 pm .

Offices and schools will remain closed, flags will be at half-mast in the Town Hall.

All events have also been suspended.

The municipal administration led by mayor Debora Porrà also invites commercial activities to keep their shutters down . Late yesterday afternoon the first citizen published the ordinance in a post on her Facebook page. There were many comments from fellow villagers who at this moment expressed words of great affection for the child and his family.
