Homage to Orlando Selis, born in Usini on February 8, 1907, died in Mauthausen, Austria, on June 15, 1945. The Municipality of Usini remembers the Marshal of the Royal Carabinieri with a commemorative ceremony, scheduled for Friday, May 16 at 5:00 pm, at the Selis gardens where a wreath will be laid in memory of Orlando and his cousin Paolo.

An important day for Usini, for history, for collective memory and to remember men of value. In the council chamber the official ceremony with the delivery by his son Gianfranco Selis of the 58 letters written by his father in the concentration camp from which emerge the moments of difficulty experienced, a work of particular historical value. He was a child when his father sent his letters to his mother from prison.

Writings addressed to his wife Eletta Pulighitta, also from Usini, which will be preserved as a heritage of collective memory. The event will be attended by the heads of the Carabinieri, civil and military authorities, the former Minister of Defense Arturo Parisi and the Usini choir for the musical moment.
