The president and general directors of Egas (Fabio Albieri and Andrea Cappelli) have publicly stated that the case of the Tempio mega-purification plant is paradoxical and scandalous. And now, operational confirmation has arrived of the alarm raised by the top management of the Sardinian water system regulator. The Tempio plant—which cost approximately €20 million—is not connected to Enel, despite the request for electricity being submitted at the end of 2023.

This project, along with a nearly seven-kilometer pipeline, will finally make the Monti di Deu reservoir usable . Designed in 1981, construction began in 1989, and the reservoir was finally tested in 2017 , yet it remains unused to this day. This reservoir, containing four million cubic meters of water, is destined for the water supply network of the municipalities of Alta Gallura (Tempio, Aggius, Luras, Bortigiadas, Calangianus, and Erula) and has never been used.

The La Pischinaccia water purification plant has been completed; Abbanoa has worked tirelessly to meet the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) deadline. The problem is that two Enel electrical substations are missing: one for the water purification plant itself and another for the lifting pumps. Abbanoa will provide an update on the situation on Friday.

The authority has nevertheless decided to commission the plant, which will feed the excellent water from the Limbara into the water supply. Diesel generators have already arrived in Tempio Pausania to power a thirty-year-awaited plant, completed but without an Enel supply.
