Two large marijuana plantations in the Nuoro area were seized by the Carabinieri, totaling nearly 3,000 plants.

The first was discovered in the countryside of Onanì, where soldiers from the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Bitti Company, with the support of the "Cacciatori di Sardegna" Helicopter Squadron, after observation operations identified a very large area used for illegal cannabis cultivation.

There were approximately 1,900 plants, hidden among the thick vegetation, almost ready for harvest. Two men were also caught caring for the plants and arrested. Another individual, believed to be an accomplice, was placed under house arrest. The irrigation system was also sealed off and completely dismantled.

In Lula, Carabinieri officers from the local station identified another plantation of about a thousand trees. One man has been charged at large.

All plants were uprooted for subsequent destruction.
