Two years' imprisonment, with a suspended sentence, for failing to recognize some warning signs that emerged from a mammogram carried out on 4 February 2015 on a patient who, at the time of the events, was 49 years old and familiar with breast cancer, thus failing to prescribe further targeted tests and thus causing her death due to a delayed diagnosis.


The specialist Giovanni Illomei, 55 years old, was sentenced yesterday morning by the judge of the Court of Cagliari, Alessandra Angioni, who accepted the reconstruction of the public prosecutor Marco Cocco and the civil party lawyer, Fabio Pili.
