Over 2,500 students per day, 80 schools registered, over 8,000 total attendees, five new degree courses presented. These are the numbers of the success achieved by the Orientation Days, the event organized by the University of Cagliari, which were held at the Cittadella universitari di Monserrato.
Three days with meetings specifically designed to provide future students with all the information they need to best choose the right study path. Educational workshops and museum activities, meetings and presentations, guided tours of research facilities, computer rooms, study rooms, libraries and museums of the Citadel were organized. All the services offered by the University were also on display. The teachers, technical-administrative and library staff, together with the orientation tutors and buddies, made themselves available to the students to illustrate the services offered by the Cus, psychological counseling, the Sia (Inclusion and Learning Service for students with disabilities) and then the College Sant'Efisio, the Job Placement, the Ersu, the Language Center.
"These days are always eagerly awaited by students," says the rector Francesco Mola, "in these meetings we present the University, with each edition the number of people who are curious about our activities grows."
Also presented were five new courses that have further enriched Unica's training offer: Marine and Aquatic Ecosystem Biotechnology and Speech Therapy; Destination and Cultural Tourism Management (both will be held at the Oristano location); Social Service and Innovation for the Nuoro location and Cinema, Music and Theater.
"We won the bet," continues the Rector, "by expanding the educational offer year after year. The number of enrolled students has grown." The results regarding female enrollments in Stem courses are also important. "60% of the students enrolled at the University are women," the Rector emphasizes, "so the number has grown a lot. The number of female researchers is also increasing."
