A Sardinian man from the Oristano area is among the nine people implicated in an investigation into the distribution of child pornography online.

This morning, police conducted searches in several Italian cities, resulting in three arrests, six charges , and nine house searches.

The investigation, coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, is the result of an undercover operation conducted by specialists from the National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography (Cncpo), who operated by infiltrating online criminal environments.

The operation began in 2024 and allowed us to monitor the distribution channels of the material. Among the various videos, some depicting the sexual abuse of young children were circulating.

Collaboration with the FBI allowed investigators to identify the nine people now under investigation for possession and dissemination of illicit material.

A 70-year-old with a similar criminal record was arrested in the Belluno area, along with a 63-year-old from Mantua and a 28-year-old from the province of Como . They were in possession of thousands of files created through the sexual exploitation of minors. Six people were reported at large, all between the ages of 30 and 70 and resident in the provinces of Oristano, Bari, Massa, Florence, Lecco, and Frosinone .

The searches involved around fifty specialized operators from the Cyber Security Operations Centers (COSC) in Bari, Cagliari, Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Venice.
