Theft at the Banco di Sardegna in the center of Trinità d'Agultu.
Between 3 and 4 am , a group of at least three hooded criminals tore up the ATM using a stolen Panda. The machine was tied with straps to the front of the ATM and dragged away.
According to initial investigations, the thieves were unable to take the safe. After breaking down a door, they only stole a money counting box connected to the ATM mechanism. But there was nothing inside: the loot is zero.
The Carabinieri present on site are investigating and have cordoned off the area and are setting up roadblocks.
There are several cameras in the area.
The Trinità gang also attempted the same robbery in Tissi, but failed because the Panda did not remove the ATM. They escaped in an Alfa Romeo used in other burglaries committed in Sassari in recent days.
