Regional Councilor Francesco Agus visited the ten municipalities of Trexenta that have declared a state of natural disaster, meeting with mayors, farmers, and agricultural businesses to assess firsthand the critical issues facing an already severely strained sector. The inspection included Pimentel, Ortacesus, Guasila, Guamaggiore, Selegas, Senorbì, Gesico, Suelli, Mandas, and Siurgus Donigala, areas where the extraordinary rainfall caused damage and exacerbated the difficulties of a particularly challenging season for the agricultural sector. "It is necessary to accelerate procedures, simplify compensation mechanisms, and ensure timely responses to Trexenta's agricultural businesses, in a season that is not at all favorable for the sector," stated Paola Casula, mayor of Guasila and a majority regional councilor.

During the meetings, the need for irrigation infrastructure improvements was also discussed, including maintenance and network expansion, to better support agricultural businesses and address the challenges associated with water resource management. Paola Casula thanked the mayors of the ten municipalities for their cooperation and Councilor Agus for choosing to personally visit the affected communities, speaking directly with administrators and sector operators in the areas affected by the emergency. The regional councilor also reiterated her commitment to advancing the process for approval of the cereal sector law, which she considers a strategic tool for revitalizing the sector and building new prospects for Sardinian wheat.
