The seventh edition of the Walk among the Olives returns on Sunday 29 October, the event promoted by the national association Città dell'Olio in 150 Italian cities. Sardinia is also present with seventeen countries involved: Bolotana (NU), Giba (CI), Gonnosfanadiga (VS), Ilbono (OG), Ittiri (SS), Masainas (CI), Riola Sardo (OR), Samatzai (CA) , Santadi (CI), Serrenti (VS), Siddi (OR), Sini (OR), Sorso (SS), Uri (SS), Usini (SS), Ussaramanna (VS) and Villacidro (VS) with trekking routes, bike excursions, bread and oil tastings, visits to oil mills, olive harvesting experiences and much more.

Oil & Health ” is the theme of this edition of the Walk among the Olives promoted with the close alliance of the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer (LILT) and the Italian Liver Foundation (FIF).

Walking is good for your health but including quality extra virgin olive oil in a balanced diet helps prevent tumors and reduce liver disease and the onset of other chronic degenerative diseases. «I am particularly proud of this project which aims to promote one of the excellences of our territory, namely extra virgin olive oil, in a perfect combination of taste and health – said the agriculture councilor Valeria Satta -. The qualities of our extra virgin olive oil are known everywhere since our climatic and geographical peculiarities make a product with exceptional organoleptic characteristics also thanks to the thousand-year-old olive growing culture of our populations."
