Just a few more days and the island's general practitioners will once again be in revolt. On Saturday they will gather once again at the Tramatza convention center, close to the 131, to protest against the latest measures adopted by the Region. As happened after all a month ago.

They will come from every province and once again they will be without trade unions in tow. During the assembly which will begin at 3 pm, the white coats will meet together to sign a document to be presented in the Region with all their requests written on it. A sort of ultimatum before glaring protests. They say.

Doctors have long been asking to eliminate as much bureaucracy as possible to put the patient back at the center of their profession. They contest the increase in the maximum number of patients assisted from 1,500 to 1,800 patients for each family doctor. But also the excessive amount of work: now the general practitioners also prescribe the therapeutic plans that the specialists used to deal with instead.

During the last assembly, there were 300 doctors in all, they recalled the list of all the useless certificates that they have to fill in every day and that the Region could eliminate without problems, one of all the ones for the children to return to school. During the meeting a month ago they announced that they were working to set up an association, the first without the help of the trade unions. The details of the initiative will be known better on Saturday.
