Another tragedy on the island's roads. Late yesterday evening , a 53-year-old man, Gian Luca Unali, born in Mara and resident in Oristano, lost his life in a violent collision on State Road 131 at kilometer marker 117, a short distance from the Paulilatino turnoff .
Two people were injured but are not in serious condition.
The impact occurred around 11pm yesterday and, according to what was ascertained by the Macomer traffic police, it occurred near a road narrowing due to the presence of a construction site .

The impact was devastating; the Audi slammed into the Peugeot, forcing the driver to be thrown from the vehicle and leaving him unharmed. Emergency medical services, firefighters, and traffic police responded to the scene and carried out investigations until late into the night. Initially, to conduct their investigations, the police had to close that stretch of the state road toward Cagliari and divert traffic onto the Complanare highway. Traffic returned to normal flow late into the night.
Officers are working to determine the circumstances of the collision. They haven't ruled out the possibility that the Audi driver might have been ill, but the tourists' car may have also slowed rapidly due to the start of the Anas roadworks. The victim, driving the Audi at high speed, may not have had time to brake.
